Use this tool to calibrate the parameters used by the annuity rate calculator. Once the calculator is calibrated to fit the values you provide, it can output illustrative annuity rates for all ages and values for use in the analysis page. You can get quotes at the Money Helper website. Input the annual annuities quoted, then press Find best fit to set the calibration parameters automatically, or adjust them yourself, so the lines on the graph match the quotes as closely as possible.
You need five annuity quotes:
Age 65 for £100,000
Age 65 for £500,000
Age 75 for £100,000
Age 75 for £500,000
Age 65 for £100,000, inflation linked
The annuities should be:
Single Life (no spouse's pension)
Annual in Advance
Level for the first four, inflation linked for the fifth
No Guarantee Period
Modelled annuity vs quotes
The 20-year gilt yield was updated from the Bank of England feed on 29 October 2026: 5.60%, the latest published figure, for 26 October 2026. The Bank publishes its figures a few days late, so for the most up-to-date value you can look up today's 20-year gilt yield and input it here. The Bank of England figure is only put in the first time this page is opened each day, so a value you input lasts until the end of the day.
Then press Find best fit to set the parameters below automatically, or adjust them yourself until the lines on the graph for ages 65 and 75 match the quotes as closely as possible. If you change the gilt yield or the quotes, press Find best fit again.
